Apple Pie with Butterscotch Sauce

Ingredients:

Butterscotch Sauce:

  • 80g butter 
  • ½ cup brown sugar 
  • ½ cup thickened cream 
  • Pinch of salt 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Remove the Our Cow Apple Family Pie from the packaging, place it on a baking tray, and bake for 50-70 minutes, or until cooked through and golden. 
  2. To make the butterscotch sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, thickened cream, and salt, and mix well. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 4 minutes, stirring often so it doesn't burn. 
  3. Take off the heat and mix in the vanilla extract. 
  4. Pour into a container and set aside until the apple pie is cooked. 
  5. Slice the apple pie and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a generous amount of the butterscotch sauce. 
  6. Enjoy!
