Step 1
Sauté onions on medium heat until starting to sweat & caramelise then add brown sugar
Step 2
Toss in garlic and sauté a little longer before adding in your beef mince.
Step 3
When the mince if halfway cooked, add the tomatoes and continue to mix.
Step 4
Add extra spices and your desired herbs, cover with ovenproof lid and place in an 180 degree Celsius oven for 20 minutes.
Step 5
You can continue to let it cook on the stove too if you’d like.
Step 6
Cook your chosen pasta until al dente in lightly salted water.
Step 7
Once your tomatoes are well cooked, take the pan out of the oven, stir and taste before adding salt, pepper and brown sugar.
Step 8
Toss your cooked pasta into the sauce and serve.
*Trust your tastebuds and if you have any Parmesan, Grana Padano or similar types of cheese, it will add some depth of saltiness to the dish.
*You can also add veggies to the sauce, grated carrots & zucchini are very palatable in it.
