Scott & Hannah Baker from Doonkami Aussie Whites in Yetman, NSW, are two of our longest-serving farmers here at Our Cow. The Baker’s Aussie White sheep flock, known for their high marble content, graze on only the best quality lucerne and high quality protein crops on their expansive property, ensuring Doonkami meat is of premium quality.
Both coming from multi-generational farming families, Scott and Hannah are absolute experts in producing some of the tastiest and most tender lamb we’ve had the pleasure of supplying to our customers here at Our Cow.
We were absolutely delighted when Scott and Hannah joined us as a partner and sponsor towards our “Car-Beque” custom-build BBQ vehicle project, all in support of fundraising for Rural Aid. Having worked with the Bakers and their gorgeous kids for several years now, we are so thankful to have them onboard and join us in our mission to help raise awareness and funds for Australia’s rural communities, through fundraising events in partnership with Rural Aid.
Thanks to Scott & Hannah’s support, we were able to complete the build of our custom FJ45 Ute, converted into an ‘Our Cow BBQ’, just in time to cook up a storm as part of “The Great Aussie BBQ” event held on Australia Day under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was fantastic to have Scott, Hannah and their kids join us on the day in Sydney as well!
For Scott, Hannah and their family, partnering with Our Cow allows them to continue working and living on their multi-generational farm while maintaining their family-oriented lifestyle, which is very important to them. They work hard to offer the best quality lamb they can produce, and help to bridge the gap between paddock and plate in Australia.
While farming is rarely easy, Scott and Hannah love what they do and the impact that buying their meat through Our Cow has on their family and their kids’ futures. They enjoy helping educate those totally removed from rural communities and farm life on how their food ends up on their table at dinner time, and why it’s every Australians’ responsibility to support our farming community.
