Here are a few things I’ve observed almost immediately:
1. Weight loss. I’ve been averaging about 0.5–1kg of weight loss per week. Dave, however, has been shedding 1.5–2kg per week! Some weeks I’ve plateaued, but overall, I’m down, and those jeans I mentioned? They’re now almost too big!
2. Clearer, brighter skin. I used to have little lumps on my cheeks and regular breakouts, they've disappeared almost instantly. My skin has been glowing and clearer than ever.
3. No more gas. This one might be TMI, but I was a pretty gassy person before. Since starting this way of eating, that’s stopped completely. My stomach feels so much happier, and I haven’t had any bloating at all.
4. So much more energy. After work, we’re out doing things. I’m in the garden, and Dave’s out riding his motorbikes. Before, we’d both be too tired, just counting down the hours until bedtime.
5. Hay fever gone. I always thought my hay fever was because of farm life—the pollen and dust everywhere. But no—it’s completely gone.
There are other changes, too, like no more brain fog and clearer thinking. Those are harder to measure and might sound a bit wishy-washy, but overall, I’d say I’m feeling a lot better than I was.
I’ll admit though, I haven’t been 100% strict all the time. But I make the best choices I can, and I consciously eat what I want without guilt.
What surprised me most is how quickly I noticed the difference. Simply cutting back on processed foods, carbs and incorporating a good-quality protein source into every meal made such an impact.
I wake up with more energy…
My clothes fit better…
My body feels stronger, more energized, and capable…
These small changes have added up to a big difference in how I feel every single day. It’s not about perfection; it’s about making choices that work for your life.
