Carnivore Story Part 3 - Motorbikes & Carnivore

So the fitness program..

I’ve always loved working out and exercising, but Dave? Not so much. He only did it because I made him, and he would always get the sh*ts if the workouts were hard. “I DON’T LIKE KILLING MYSELF AT THE GYM LIKE YOU!” he would say.

So, you can imagine my surprise when he said he’d signed up for a 16-week motocross fitness program! I was shocked—but also super supportive—and then he said, “You can do it with me.” Having someone to train with makes it easier, right? 😅

Now, the last time I was on a motorbike was last year at a club day in Inverell. During the practice run, a guy on a 450 t-boned me, bad. He was going too fast for practice. I ended up in tears, with sore ribs, a massive bruise that lasted a month, and my confidence left in the mud. So, while I was keen on doing the training, I wasn’t so keen on getting back on the bike just yet.. although writing this has made me think 'gotta get back on the horse eventually!' .. stay tuned..

Anyway, I figured my fitness wasn’t too bad since I’d been hitting the gym four days a week. HAHA: I was wrong.

The first workout of this motocross program thing absolutely wrecked me. My legs were so sore, going to the toilet was daunting, wondering how I was going to get down that low.. Dave was struggling too, but he never complained once. And the next morning, we were both up at 5 am for the next workout.

With the change in our diet and this fitness program, we’d really stepped up our activity. It’s been great because, unfortunately, we don’t do as much physical farm work as we used to.

These days, we spend a lot of time in the car, in the office, with the team, in front of a computer or on the phone. Running Our Cow is a different kind of wrestling!

Back to carnivore..

I didn’t start this diet with any big health issues to fix—just wanted to drop a few kilos, fit into my jeans a bit better (they were getting really tight), and not have to loosen my belt to the last hole.

Plus, like I said before, we’re the face of this amazing company, so if we’re going to talk the talk about healthy, grass-fed meat, we figured it was time to walk the walk too.

At first, I thought I’d be starving or constantly craving sugary foods. I’ve got a massive sweet tooth (hello, cookie quest). But surprisingly, the meals kept us so full that I didn’t even think about snacking or sugar.

I didn’t feel restricted or hungry at all. And if I did want a snack, I’d just grab a bit of jerky, ham or a few slices of cheese.

Dave's snacks have changed too..

TBC...

PS, if you want to kick your health into gear or just make better food choices, the meat is the easiest part & we can help you stock up on the good stuff!
